Clamps

A clamp is a metal element for fastening and sealing joints. The differences are in the geometric shape, the fixing device, the brand of the material used.   In the aircraft industry, clamps are used to bundle electrical wiring harnesses, fasten pipelines of various aircraft systems to the body.

Types and classification

Clamps made according to OST have a wide field of application in addition to being used in the aircraft building industry and the fuel and energy industry, they are used in the following areas: transport engineering, shipbuilding, railway construction and car building, construction.

Types of clamps classification according to OST 1:

• clamps with and without lining;
• cable ties for bundling wires;
• tape products equipped with pads;
• two-shoe aircraft clamps.

The design of some of the products involves the use of a screw, nut, mounting plate, pads. To increase the resistance of metals to corrosion, the parts are additionally treated with a coating: zinc plating, cadmium plating or chemical passivation.

Materials

According to current regulations, these fasteners are produced from the following materials:

• structural steel 20;
• aluminum alloys;
• stainless steels;
• titanium alloys.

Most of the clamps are equipped with a quality rubber lining. Radial pressure is transferred to the plate from the clamping force, which acts around the circumference of the clamp.

Types of rubber compound used for clamps OST 1:

• IRP-1078 in a fuel working environment at -50 ° C to +150 ° C for material D16, st20;
• IRP-1285 in air working environment at -60 ° C to +400 ° C for material 12X17G9AN4-M, in air working environment at -60 ° C to +150 ° C for material D16, in air working environment at -60 ° C to +250 ° C for material st20, D19.
• NO-68-1 in an air working environment at -50 ° C to +100 ° C for material D16, st20;

Clamp production
